This post will contain some of our latest finds that don’t merit a full article. Some of these links and articles are wonderful resources.
Two of us here at WebsiteForensics spent 32 days on a road-trip down to the East Coast of Canada. It was bliss: the people, the places, the food. This is Canada’s best kept secret.
Unfortunately, on our way through Montreal, we thought it would be a great idea to stop by the Atwater Marché for some produce. That’s when it happened: a smash and grab. In just a few minutes, our laptop, cameras, backpacks were stolen. All our pictures had been downloaded to the computer, so there we were with bags of apples and carrots but no pictures from our trip save the 200 or so still on the camera they didn’t manage to steal. What a nightmare.
Update : CleanText.org – The goal is to take formatted text and render it in a way so that when it’s rendered with a nice variable-width font, it will to look very clean and properly formatted.
Often times, when copying text from an editor like Word or a Webpage, to Dreamweaver, you also copy a lot of formatting. This can often times be a nuisance, so it becomes necessary to “unformat” the text.
If it’s only a few words, a sentence, copy the content and paste to the URL bar to unformat, select anew and paste to Dreamweaver.
If you’re dealing with a lot more content, paste the text to your favorite email client and changer the format of the message to “text” or un-select “HTML”. Select anew, the content has now lost all formatting.
A great image analyser : check out ErrorLevelAnalysis – errorlevelanalysis.com
Error level analysis allows you see to see the difference in quality level, represented by brightness. Things which are very bright have been edited most recently, whilst duller parts have been resaved multiple times. This allows you to see not just which parts of the image have been changed, but in what order the changes occurred.
Remote access software is the holy grail of network applications. Unfortunately, too many built-in applications are difficult to configure, lack reliability and offer only a small number of options and limited security.
The field of remote access software has provided clients with a large number of packages, but few offer high-level encryption: 256-bit encryption – the highest in its class. Proxy Network’s Proxy Pro 6 offers peer-to-peer remote access, remote management tools that come in several flavors, from Workstation Edition to the Gateway Edition.
