We use hosting and domains in multiple countries. Some of our clients have very strict requirements for country-specific hosting and some domain names cannot always be hosted anywhere. We can’t say enough about these two tools when trying to diagnose an unusually slow site. Once the obvious issues have been examined (large images, bad scripts, slow database responses, damaged tables…) you should always run Firebug and YSlow sessions within your browser for further diagnoses.

There are so many web-hosting companies to choose from and so many technical flavors. How do you know which one you want to sign up with? This is not an easy decision, as the server choice will impact development, deployment, security and many more aspects of web hosting. • W3C HTML validator – This is the W3C Markup Validation Service, a free service that checks Web documents in formats like HTML and XHTML for conformance to W3C Recommendations and other standards.
• Jigsaw – Enter the URI of a document (HTML with CSS or CSS only) you would like validated.
• Backwards Compatibility Checker – Web Page Backward Compatibility Viewer
