In this day and age, when you meet someone you don’t exchange twitter accounts or Facebook profiles. Instead, we always end up getting an EMAIL. The Internet’s oldest form of communication is still the most universal piece of information that is exchanged between prospective partners or new acquaintances.

Flowtown.com is a service that will match an email address with Web 2.0 accounts through a simple search feature. Flowtown also offers an import utility for Gmail accounts, csv files (Outlook Exported contacts) or manual input. When opening your account, you will be provided with your own dashboard for easy management.

Flowtown is also a great tool for social media marketing or Twitter marketing campaigns within your trade or social network. In short, this is a wonderful tool for moving from the lowly email to Web 2.0.

Unformatting text

Update : CleanText.org – The goal is to take formatted text and render it in a way so that when it’s rendered with a nice variable-width font, it will to look very clean and properly formatted.

Often times, when copying text from an editor like Word or a Webpage, to Dreamweaver, you also copy a lot of formatting. This can often times be a nuisance, so it becomes necessary to “unformat” the text.

If it’s only a few words, a sentence, copy the content and paste to the URL bar to unformat, select anew and paste to Dreamweaver.

If you’re dealing with a lot more content, paste the text to your favorite email client and changer the format of the message to “text” or un-select “HTML”. Select anew, the content has now lost all formatting.

Error Level Analysis

A great image analyser : check out ErrorLevelAnalysis – errorlevelanalysis.com

Error level analysis allows you see to see the difference in quality level, represented by brightness. Things which are very bright have been edited most recently, whilst duller parts have been resaved multiple times. This allows you to see not just which parts of the image have been changed, but in what order the changes occurred.

Will a six year old iTunes card still work?

Six years ago – a bunch of us went on a road trip and somebody bought a iTunes card somewhere between Chicago and St Louis. For reasons unknown, the card was lost – let’s say misplaced – and recently recovered.

We wondered, would this card still work? We’ve been burned so many times with gift cards that died, lost their remaining balance or went mysteriously empty after a few months (phone cards are the worst) – so naturally we were skeptical.

So What Your New Year’s Resolution?

Image 1We at WebsiteForensics.com are hard working nerds and geeks with a passion for getting things done. That means we push the envelope with the help from some good coffee. Unfortunately, some of us developed a not so nice habit; that of smoking. Stopping is one of the hardest things you can ever attempt! Dave and Blake here at WebsiteForensics have made their New Year’s resolution to stop smoking with the aid of an Electronic Cigarette.

We read about this some time ago, and decided – since we’re geeks and nerds – to give it a try. The Electric Cigarette is a device that gives us the feeling we’re smoking without all the risks associated with tobacco-based cigarettes. No tar, no phenols, no carbon monoxide, just water vapor. Really. We believe Smokeless Cigarettes are a great way to keep that New Year’s resolution!

So, why don’t you try an Electronic Cigarette Free Trial today?

Computer Spying Tools

Image 3We do not endorse doing anything that is illegal or violates privacy. However there are cases where it is necessary to conduct investigations: parents have the rights and responsibility to monitor their child’s computer usage and employers have the right to monitor activity on their networks and systems. You need a computer spy system.

This is why products are available  as computer spy are available on the market. BrickHouseSecurity.com offers a number of products that give you the ability to monitor networks and machines that fall under your responsibility. This new product will gather passwords, pictures, websites and more even if the end user is not using the administrative account.

Being a computer spy is never to be taken lightly, but you are also responsible for the proper usage of your machines.

Another Top Twelve List: Our Favorite iPhone Apps

We never tire of top ten lists, but come to think of it, why are these lists always … ten. Why not a top 12? Remember, 12 is divisible par 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12! Try that with 10! Sorry about that, we’re geeks.

iPhone Apps are currently in the 10 000 + numbers. How many of us will ever use more than a dozen or so apps? After two years, we’ve boiled it down based on usage, practicality and usefulness.
